Electrical CAD Technician, Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky.

📋 Description

• Assist in the creation of construction drawings derived from Revit-based models for effective building and project coordination.

• Prepare and revise 2D electrical drawings utilizing Revit-generated views for construction documentation and coordination purposes.

• Include annotations, dimensions, notes, callouts, detail references, legends, schedules, and organization of sheets.

• Aid in the production of floor plans, power plans, lighting plans, low-voltage plans, one-lines, risers, details, and enlarged views.

• Arrange drawing sheets, view layouts, title blocks, and plotting sets in alignment with company and client standards.

• Examine drawing sets for clarity, consistency, completeness, and coordination.

• Accurately incorporate markups from engineers and project managers within set timelines.

• Contribute to quality control initiatives by verifying dimensions, notes, sheet references, naming conventions, and document standards.

• Assist in upholding CAD/Revit standards, templates, symbols, and best practices in drafting.

• Collaborate with engineers and designers to address drafting and documentation challenges.

• Support project deliverables at various project milestones.

• Generate PDFs, plotting packages, and issued drawing sets for both internal and external distribution.

• Monitor revisions and maintain orderly project files.

⛳️ Requirements

• An associate degree, technical certificate, or comparable experience in CAD drafting, design technology, electrical drafting, or a related field.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in electrical drafting/design support for AEC projects is preferred.

• Proficient knowledge of Revit and/or AutoCAD within a building design context.

• Experience in producing electrical construction documents or coordinated drawing sets.

• Familiarity with typical electrical drawing content, including lighting, power, panel schedules, symbols, and fundamental one-line concepts.

• Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and quality of documents.

• Ability to accurately follow redlines, standards, and project directives.

• Capability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a team setting.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
