EHS Site Manager – OstWind 4 Project Land Station

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Take on the EHS leadership position as the main contact on site while actively assisting construction management and subcontractors.

• Foster a robust safety culture and incorporate EHS into all site activities in line with GE Vernova standards.

• Aid in the implementation, monitoring, and ongoing enhancement of the EHS management system, conducting hazard assessments and risk analyses.

• Organize and execute EHS audits, inspections, and safety walks, ensuring follow-up on corrective actions.

• Guarantee structured EHS reporting and the accurate recording, investigation, and analysis of incidents and near misses.

• Execute, oversee, and continuously enhance the Permit-to-Work system (work permits) along with relevant site control processes.

• Lead and facilitate training sessions, safety meetings, and toolbox talks, while promoting active engagement among employees.

• Guide site leadership and subcontractors to enhance EHS accountability and ensure adherence to all requirements.

• Supervise subcontractor EHS performance, including qualification, onboarding, and compliance with legal and project-specific mandates.

• Ensure the implementation of environmental management measures (e.g., waste management, emissions control, hazardous substances, water protection) and compliance with legal and client-specific obligations.

• Establish emergency preparedness through recognized processes, drills, suitable equipment, and coordinated communication with all pertinent stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in safety, environmental or engineering fields, or a technical/vocational qualification with relevant EHS experience.

• Acknowledged certification as a Safety Specialist (Fachkraft für Arbeitssicherheit) under DGUV and as a Site Safety Coordinator (SiGeKo).

• Extensive experience in EHS, preferably within construction, installation, or industrial projects.

• Strong understanding of German occupational safety, health, and environmental regulations and site EHS procedures (including Permit-to-Work / Control-of-Work).

• Proficient in German and possess good written and spoken English skills.

• Skilled in using MS Office applications.
