This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Take on the EHS leadership role as the main point of contact at the site, providing active support to site management and subcontractors.
• Foster a robust safety culture and ensure EHS is embedded in all site activities in accordance with GE Vernova standards.
• Assist in the implementation, monitoring, and ongoing enhancement of the EHS management system, including conducting hazard assessments and risk analyses.
• Organize and execute EHS audits, inspections, and safety walkthroughs, ensuring follow-up on corrective actions is completed.
• Guarantee structured EHS reporting, along with accurate recording, investigation, and analysis of incidents and near misses.
• Implement, monitor, and continuously enhance the Permit-to-Work system and related site control processes.
• Lead and facilitate training sessions, safety briefings, and toolbox talks, while encouraging active participation from workers.
• Mentor site leadership and subcontractors to enhance EHS accountability and ensure adherence to all regulations.
• Oversee subcontractor EHS performance, including qualification, onboarding, and compliance with legal and project-specific standards.
• Ensure the execution of environmental management measures (e.g., waste, emissions, hazardous substances, water protection) and compliance with legal and client-specific regulations.
• Maintain emergency preparedness through established procedures, drills, suitable equipment, and coordinated communication with all relevant parties.
• A degree in safety, environmental, or engineering disciplines, or a technical/vocational qualification with pertinent EHS experience.
• A recognized qualification as an Occupational Safety Specialist (DGUV) and as a Safety and Health Coordinator (SiGeKo).
• Several years of experience in EHS, preferably within construction, installation, or industrial projects.
• Strong understanding of German occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations, as well as site EHS processes (including Permit-to-Work / Control-of-Work).
• Proficient in both German and English, with strong written and spoken communication skills.
• Skilled in MS Office applications.
