This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Offer support and expertise in all areas of occupational health & safety and environmental protection for services, projects, and the integration of acquisitions in Germany, ensuring adherence to regulatory, contractual, and internal corporate standards.
• Collaborate with senior leadership and various functions to achieve superior EHS performance.
• Assist senior leadership in executing EHS strategies and provide guidance to operational management to avert workplace accidents and occupational illnesses.
• Promote and ensure compliance with the carrier’s “Lead with Safety Commitments” while actively encouraging EHS as a collective responsibility ingrained in a robust EHS culture.
• Mentor management teams to cultivate a thorough understanding of EHS responsibilities and the advantages of a resilient EHS program for the business.
• Supervise EHS investigations into workplace incidents to ascertain root causes, decide on immediate and preventive actions, and document lessons learned.
• Assess EHS resource requirements during the project bidding phase based on project role, scope, hazard profile, and technical complexity.
• Manage EHS prequalification, deployment, and performance of subcontractors.
• Create and deliver EHS training and development programs.
• Conduct regular safety inspections/audits and ensure timely implementation of corrective measures.
• Provide administrative assistance, particularly for the internal EHS reporting system.
• Review and revise all EHS policies, procedures, and risk assessments.
• Generate timely EHS communications in various formats (videos, in-person briefings/presentations, written communications).
• Assist in the renewal of EHS certifications.
• This position entails regular travel within Germany to visit construction sites and depot locations.
• Certified Safety Specialist (Fachkraft für Arbeitssicherheit) in accordance with §7 ASiG (German Occupational Health and Safety Act).
• Minimum of 5 years of pertinent professional experience with escalating responsibility in organizations engaged in service, construction, or manufacturing activities.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements, including safety, environmental, and other standards relevant to building services and construction.
• Demonstrated capability to organize, inspire, lead change, and collaborate across various functions.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to influence, establish effective working relationships, and drive cultural change, along with a keen willingness to learn and grow.
• Proven ability to operate within a matrix organization and to influence and motivate diverse teams toward a common objective.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both German and English.
