This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky.

📋 Description

• Deliver training and professional development opportunities for service providers and families through in-person sessions, virtual platforms, webinars, or guided support.

• Act as a liaison between APH and states within the designated region.

• Supply up-to-date information regarding APH products and services and represent APH at various conferences.

• Support APH programs aimed at eligible students and families.

• Establish and maintain relationships with service providers, EOTs, OOAs, personnel preparation programs, and professionals in the blindness field.

• Lead selected APH training sessions, exhibits, conferences, and professional development events.

• Present at national, regional, state, consumer, and professional gatherings.

• Create and implement workshops, seminars, curricula, agendas, and training materials in formats such as videos, PowerPoints, blogs, and the APH learning management system.

• Research, uphold, and share knowledge regarding APH policies, the Federal Quota system, products, services, and industry best practices.

• Collaborate with Project Leaders, Customer Service, EPI, and field professionals on product launches, professional development, knowledge sharing, and outreach initiatives.

• Identify, monitor, and engage professionals in the blindness field for professional development and outreach programs.

• Carry out additional duties as required.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in special education, social work, vocational rehabilitation, or a related field.

• Master's degree is preferred.

• A degree in blindness/low vision, orientation and mobility, or a related field is preferred.

• Over 3 years of experience working with blind, low vision, or deafblind individuals.

• Experience with children and/or families, especially in disability or blindness-related environments, is preferred.

• Proven knowledge of IDEA, IEP/IFSP processes, and family systems within special education.

• Familiarity with braille/AT ecosystems and accessibility considerations in digital learning tools.

• Strong critical thinking abilities and a self-starter attitude.

• Capability to take initiative and lead project efforts as necessary.

• A combination of education, training, and experience may be taken into account when competency in the role is demonstrated.
