Editor in Chief, Journal of Forestry

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Establish the strategic vision for the Journal over the upcoming five to ten years

• Collaborate with SAF publishing personnel to enhance submission rates

• Identify avenues for growth in impact factor and boost citation rates

• Attract and maintain a pool of qualified authors and reviewers

• Ensure prompt responses to in-process manuscripts and delegate them to associate editors

• Assess and make final editorial decisions regarding all submissions

⛳️ Requirements

• Active member of the Society of American Foresters

• Reside within the United States

• Proven track record of authorship in scientific papers published in peer-reviewed journals

• Experience as a reviewer, editor, publication manager, and/or science communicator

• Graduate degree (preferably a PhD) in the field of forestry

• Established connections across academia, industry, and federal agencies within forestry and natural resources

• Proficiency in cloud-based computing, email, Microsoft Office Suite, and web-based applications

• Capability to coordinate with SAF leaders and stakeholders
