Editor-in-Chief – Education

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.

📋 Description

• Utilize your global networks and expertise in educational research, paired with desk research abilities, to generate high-quality submissions in essential subject areas for the Education portfolio.

• Strategically advance one or more journals, considering both scientific and publishing aspects within the wider context of the Education portfolio.

• Build and sustain a robust international network of researchers and practitioners who serve as authors, peer reviewers, and board members for the journals.

• Represent Wiley and the Education portfolio at conferences, as well as through both in-person and virtual outreach initiatives at universities and research institutions.

• Supervise the editorial assessment, peer review process, and decision-making for submitted manuscripts.

• Collaborate closely with both external and internal editorial teams.

• Partner with your manager and colleagues to cultivate a team environment characterized by trust, respect, and high performance.

⛳️ Requirements

• A PhD in educational research.

• Experience in manuscript management, including pre-screening, peer review, final decisions, appeals, and integrity matters.

• Proven experience in commissioning, which includes identifying key topics, engaging potential authors, establishing outlines and timelines, and guiding authors through the submission process.

• Strong international networks within research communities.

• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities with both internal and external stakeholders.

• Capability to work collaboratively and achieve results through personal influence and engagement.

• A flexible and innovative problem-solving approach with a focus on defining and achieving outcomes.

• Exceptional organizational and time management skills, along with an excellent command of the English language (both written and verbal).

• A solid understanding of scientific publishing and a commitment to advocating for innovations in publishing and open research.

• Confidence to present and represent the Education portfolio at international conferences and institutional visits.
