This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +4 more states.
• Offer project management support to legal teams, which includes consultations with case teams and clients regarding e-discovery, such as early case assessments, forensic collections, processing, culling and filtering, document reviews, productions, and database administration.
• Develop cost estimates, budgets, and time projections for the completion of various tasks throughout the discovery process.
• Collaborate and advise on the preservation and collection of ESI, involving communication with internal client IT professionals as needed.
• Provide and assist with technical support, including database design, data loading into review platforms, conducting searches, and offering back-end operational support as necessary.
• Identify and engage third-party service providers, in collaboration with the Practice Support Director and/or Practice Support Manager.
• Assist in developing and vetting relevant search terms and/or deploying analytics as required for specific matters.
• Help in creating appropriate document review protocols and direct document reviews.
• Support legal teams in preparing for CR 26 meet and confer conferences, providing insights and/or sample language for drafting instructions for the production of ESI in response to discovery requests and/or inclusion within ESI court orders and/or protective orders.
• Manage multiple matters and projects from collection to trial.
• Understand, contribute to, enhance, and advocate for department practices and procedures.
• Foster creativity and collaboration with team members to innovate and address litigation support challenges.
• Commit to self-education regarding eDiscovery industry trends, technologies, and other practice support topics.
• Offer input and training to legal teams to enhance their understanding and acceptance of technology.
• Serve as a reliable resource for legal teams regarding practice support solutions.
• Possess advanced knowledge of Relativity and familiarity with other eDiscovery platforms, including integration capabilities with other eDiscovery solutions within Relativity.
• Have a basic understanding of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (“EDRM”) and the various phases of litigation matters.
• Act as a key member of the practice support department to improve firm-wide procedures and practices, including department initiatives and workload/workflow within the practice support team.
• Provide off-hours support as necessary and required.
• Bachelor’s Degree and/or paralegal degree or certificate with 7+ years of relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination.
• Extensive knowledge and skills in operating litigation technology systems and platforms, specifically with a focus on Relativity.
• Familiarity and general understanding of various technical applications, including file formats and data types, media sources, ephemeral data (e.g., external media sources, social media, mobile devices, etc.), and other asymmetrical data sources.
• Technology certifications such as ACEDS, Relativity Certified Administrator, or other eDiscovery-related certifications are highly encouraged.
• Advanced knowledge of industry-standard applications and trending best practices, combined with excellent project management skills, including planning, organization, and execution of practice support projects.
• Exceptional attention to detail and the capacity to work within scheduling constraints in high-pressure situations.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication skills and high emotional intelligence to effectively interact with all levels of the legal team, particularly when providing opinions and making decisions related to practice support and eDiscovery matters.
• Initiative and a proactive attitude with the ability to foresee issues and respond thoughtfully and productively.
