Edge Network Engineering Internship

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Support senior engineers in the deployment of edge computing infrastructure, cloud integration, and SD-WAN solutions for customers.

• Assist in architecture walkthroughs, configuration, testing, and go-live activities under the guidance of senior engineers.

• Engage in aligning project managers, systems engineers, and customer stakeholders on design specifications and project timelines.

• Help troubleshoot deployment challenges across various operating systems, hypervisors, containers, and networks while under supervision.

• Acquire skills to write basic automation scripts and develop reusable deployment tools.

• Document processes, configurations, and insights gained for internal knowledge repositories.

• Participate in internal training sessions and collaborate across functions.

• Attend customer workshops for large-scale or complex implementations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Final-year or recently graduated Bachelor's student in Computer Science, Network Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline, with a solid academic performance.

• Capable of obtaining a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the university.

• Basic knowledge of Linux system administration and troubleshooting techniques.

• Academic exposure to Type 1 and Type 2 hypervisors, such as KVM or VMware.

• Introductory understanding of networking concepts, including routing, VLANs, firewalls, DNS, NAT, and routing protocols.

• Basic experience with physical and virtual network interfaces through academic work or personal projects.

• Willingness to learn tools such as tcpdump, Wireshark, iptables, and netstat.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on clear documentation and the ability to ask pertinent questions.

• Availability to commit to the full internship duration during standard business hours.

• Preferred: coursework or personal projects related to containerization and lightweight Kubernetes distributions like K3s.

• Preferred: familiarity with SD-WAN concepts or Versa SD-WAN.

• Preferred: experience with Azure or AWS, including virtual machine provisioning or datastore concepts.

• Preferred: understanding of REST APIs and proficiency with tools such as Postman, Swagger, curl, or Python scripts.

• Preferred: knowledge of Ansible, Terraform, or Bash scripting.

• Preferred: experience with edge orchestration platforms such as Zededa, Azure IoT Edge, or AWS Greengrass.
