Dutch Accessibility Tester

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Assess the accessibility of localized digital content specific to languages, including web pages, applications, and documents.

• Act as a native-language expert reviewer, ensuring that accessibility components are precise, comprehensible, and functional in the target language (Dutch).

• Verify the accuracy of language codes in HTML and PDF metadata, while identifying mixed-language content that lacks proper declarations.

• Utilize native-language screen readers (JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, TalkBack, or Narrator) to review translated accessible text for precision and clarity.

• Analyze captions, transcripts, and audio descriptions for correctness, synchronization, and natural language flow.

• Document findings with references to WCAG/PDF-UA, supporting screenshots or recordings, and severity ratings; engage in review discussions with the QA Lead as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Native or near-native proficiency in Dutch; you will serve as the primary authority on the natural readability and comprehensibility of translated content.

• Proven hands-on experience in testing digital content with assistive technology (AT).

• Familiarity with WCAG 2.1 & 2.2 AA and EN 301 549 guidelines.

• Capability to assess content from a native-speaker accessibility viewpoint — focusing on practical usability for screen reader users who are fluent in the language, beyond mere technical compliance.

• Consistent access to relevant devices and operating systems to simulate real-world usage in the target locale.

• Strong written communication skills in English for reporting defects and general communication (preferred).

• Experience in PDF accessibility testing using PAC 3 or Adobe Acrobat Pro Accessibility Checker (preferred).

• Understanding of internationalization, localization, and translation processes; awareness of how accessibility features may be impacted during format conversion (preferred).

• Personal experience with assistive technology (preferred).
