This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky, +2 more states.
• Organize and support tasks to ensure that donation initiatives operate efficiently across various stakeholders.
• Facilitate communication and guarantee adherence to regulations, governing bodies, and accepting agencies to enhance organ, eye, and tissue donation.
• Collaborate closely with hospital personnel, funeral homes, coroners, tissue technicians, and organ recovery teams to manage the donation process.
• Educate families about the opportunity to pursue organ, eye, and tissue donation.
• Collect and input patient medical and social information received from partners.
• Relay referral and case details to both internal and external stakeholders and provide necessary follow-up.
• Evaluate initial suitability for tissue and eye donors.
• Assess donor registry status or connect with the relevant organ procurement organization.
• Document and analyze medical suitability criteria for potential tissue and eye donors.
• Implement internal and external donor suitability policies, procedures, and standards.
• Liaise with coroners to secure permission for donation and process requests.
• Coordinate authorization and UDRAI processes with both internal and external partners.
• Engage with legal next of kin to discuss donation possibilities, provide essential authorization elements, and compile medical/social questionnaires.
• Offer support to donor families with follow-up communications.
• Contact tissue and eye processors for donor evaluation and acceptance.
• Relay authorization details to stakeholders, including tissue teams, processors, transportation, coroners, and funeral homes.
• Record necessary information in the charting database.
• Collaborate with Quality and Regulatory Affairs to adhere to documentation standards and address any deviations.
• Coordinate donor transportation for recovery operations.
• Conduct touch-base calls and post-case follow-ups.
• Determine suitable contact intervals based on case dynamics.
• Ensure timely completion of case checklists.
• Exchange and receive shift reports.
• Certification in a healthcare-related field or a secondary degree in education, medical, or healthcare is preferred.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a call center environment or a suitable combination of education and experience.
• Availability to work night shift hours.
• A strong commitment to the organization’s mission and programs.
• Capability to work effectively in a remote setting using various communication channels.
• Proficient computer skills and familiarity with multiple browsers and healthcare applications.
• Ability to comprehend complex policies and procedures and follow instructions precisely.
• Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy in data entry.
• Possess a friendly, helpful, and professional demeanor in both verbal and written communication.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Availability for a schedule of 7:00 PM–7:00 AM, comprising three 12-hour shifts and one 4-hour shift each week.
• First week of training will be conducted during day-shift hours upon hiring.
