This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee Auto Claims operations, ensuring accountability for performance, customer outcomes, compliance, expense management, and talent results.
• Manage the handling strategy and operational implementation for Low Touch Claims, Coverage Investigations, Subrogation, Rental, Med Pay, and Theft/Fire.
• Lead the investigation and resolution of intricate claims issues while offering robust technical and administrative guidance to large teams.
• Take ownership of claim routing and transfer performance by pinpointing root causes of mis-segmentation, unnecessary transfers, and workflow disruptions.
• Utilize data and comprehensive analysis to track transfer volume, assignment accuracy, capacity, productivity, and emerging operational trends, and deliver executive-level reporting and recommendations.
• Collaborate with FNOL, QA, Innovation, and operational leaders to enhance initial claim setup, minimize avoidable handoffs, and fortify process discipline.
• Supervise transfer criteria and decisions regarding file movement.
• Equitably distribute workloads and resources among teams, including exception capacity and specialty assignments, to sustain continuity and achieve business results.
• Spearhead change initiatives, tests and learns, and process enhancements that boost efficiency, accuracy, and service quality.
• Foster a strong leadership culture through coaching, performance management, talent development, succession planning, and clear accountability.
• Cultivate a productive and supportive work atmosphere characterized by high engagement, strong morale, and a commitment to world-class claims service.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to facilitate portfolio management, product implementation, growth, and business profitability.
• Travel as necessary to uphold leadership presence, address business priorities, and ensure organizational alignment.
• Define success through improved segmentation accuracy and reduced unnecessary claims transfers, strong operational discipline with measurable results in compliance, file quality, customer outcomes, and cost performance. Enhanced visibility into transfer drivers, workflow challenges, and team capacity through clear reporting and analysis. A robust leadership pipeline nurtured by active coaching, succession planning, and enhanced team capabilities over time. Successful execution of process and change initiatives that elevate accuracy, efficiency, and service quality. Capability to recognize opportunities to enhance claims operations, leveraging AI and a data-driven culture to deliver business value.
• A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree.
• Required minimum Adjuster licensing as dictated by regulators.
• At least 10 years of experience in complex claims handling, particularly in leading intricate coverage investigations, including a minimum of 7 years in a leadership role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Advanced understanding of claims procedures, systems, coverage, evaluation, liability, estimating, settlement, and relevant legal and regulatory compliance standards.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to reconcile data, identify trends, diagnose root causes, and translate analysis into actionable business strategies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting complex operational issues clearly to senior leadership and business partners.
• Proven ability to lead through transitions, influence large groups, and exercise independent judgment on sensitive personnel, legal, and business matters.
• Strong skills in conflict management, problem-solving, and relationship management.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office tools and claims-related systems.
• Exceptional organization, follow-through, and attention to detail.
• Preferred designations include CPCU, AIC, or other insurance-related certifications.
• Experience in leading high-volume operational claims workflows.
• A history of enhancing claim assignment logic, process design, and measurable operational outcomes.
