This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Recruit, present, and promote the ERIE Agency Career to potential Agents and producers.
• Select, hire, train, and develop new independent Agents into self-sufficient company representatives.
• Encourage independent Agents to sell ERIE products and services.
• Provide training to Agents on products, underwriting, servicing, and Agency operations.
• Oversee complaints and inquiries from Policyholders, Agents, and claimants.
• Collaborate with the branch manager to address underperforming Agents and enforce contractual performance standards.
• Maintain a high level of expertise in ERIE's commercial, personal, and life products, as well as IT tools and sales resources.
• Support the implementation and management of underwriting and technology tools, policies, plans, and objectives.
• Offer local insights for rate reviews.
• Act as a direct communication link between Agents and the company, providing updates on initiatives and changes.
• Function as a field underwriter for exceptional property and casualty risks within binding authority limits.
• Resolve sales and customer service issues faced by Agents, in collaboration with branch and home office staff.
• Implement best practices in customer service, marketing, sales, and underwriting at the Agency level.
• Sponsor and oversee sales contests, promotions, and incentives.
• Market ERIE products and services as a licensed, non-commission company Agent.
• Assist Agents in identifying and addressing Agency-level sales and marketing challenges.
• Develop and execute Agency and district business plans and budgets.
• Meet annual objectives for P/C and EFL sales, profitability, and market share.
• Evaluate Agency performance trends and conduct reviews of underwriting, profitability, and compliance outcomes.
• Collaborate with Agents to implement corrective actions when necessary.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent of four years of experience in sales, underwriting, claims, or marketing is required.
• A minimum of three years of experience in sales, underwriting, claims, or marketing, or completion of the DSM Training Program, is required.
• Residency in the assigned territory is mandatory unless a company-approved change is granted.
• A solid understanding of and commitment to ERIE’s 'Above All in Service' philosophy is essential.
• Extensive local travel, including overnight stays, is required.
• Proficiency in spreadsheet, word processing, and email software is necessary.
• Related industry designations such as CIC, CPCU, or CLU are preferred.
• A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are mandatory.
• The ability to perform frequent driving and occasional lifting, moving, pushing, pulling, climbing, and computer usage is required.
