This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.
• Develop engaging virtual training sessions that empower captains and maintain their interest.
• Collaborate with the communications team to create templates and social media toolkits for captain recruitment.
• Discover and pursue innovative opportunities to enhance the program's effectiveness and improve its framework.
• Co-create, construct, and continually improve training curricula, utilizing existing resources and personal experiences.
• Manage the shared resource library, which includes messaging guidelines, best-practice documents, FAQs, and quick-reference materials.
• Conduct live virtual training sessions for captains across numerous states and hundreds of counties, and train staff to replicate this.
• Tailor delivery to suit diverse audiences: rural versus suburban, younger versus older participants, and everything in between.
• Provide biweekly office hours for captains, which may include peer learning opportunities among captains.
• Organize the scheduling of part-time staff to ensure all training sessions are adequately staffed, with backups and established schedules at least two weeks in advance.
• Conduct at least a 30-minute one-on-one meeting with each direct report weekly.
• Innovative and proactive: you recognize opportunities, propose ideas, and take initiative, learning from outcomes.
• Strong project management skills: you can manage numerous moving components, prioritize effectively under pressure, and know when to seek assistance in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexible and forward-thinking: comfortable in a continuously evolving and improving program.
• Appreciates feedback, both in giving and receiving forms.
• Mission-oriented: you believe in enhancing this country and the Democratic Party, starting with our efforts.
• Excellent communication skills: proficient in training and facilitation, with the ability to mentor others on emotional intelligence, empathy, and boundary management.
• Comfortable presenting and performing in a virtual setting; experience in theater, podcasting, or micro-influencing is advantageous.
• 2–3 years of experience managing staff and volunteers within a campaign context, with substantial experience training and supervising volunteers.
• Preferred: connections to a rural community and an understanding of organizing within a rural framework.
• Strongly preferred: experience in the food service or retail sectors, in addition to campaigning and volunteer management experience.
• Annual salary ranging from $72,000 to $78,000 (Level 2).
• Work-life stipend of $700/month pre-tax to assist employees during our busiest work periods, starting August 1 (prorated for partial months).
