This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• The Director of Workplace Trainings is responsible for initiating and developing strategies for programs aligned with the practice’s and organization’s strategic goals.
• Oversees and ensures that the managed functions are executed efficiently and effectively for one or more programs within a Practice.
• Collaborates across functions and with support services (marketing, sales, product development, operations, finance) to translate program/product requirements into actionable goals, establish metrics and standards, and achieve program objectives.
• Defines product strategy (vision, customer persona, positioning, differentiation, and roadmap) and its alignment with our mission.
• Maintains market knowledge and gathers competitive intelligence through research.
• Works with the marketing team to formulate marketing and lead generation strategies.
• Partners with sales teams (across channels) to enhance product sales implementation and support strategies.
• Manages the product roadmap as necessary to ensure deliverables align with business growth objectives, including market share, revenue, profit, and return on investment across all business channels/categories and key customers.
• Ensures the development, definition, and operationalization of the product/service life-cycle.
• Provides knowledge, education, and awareness of programs/products/services to populations that may not have access to or knowledge of NSC programs.
• Writes articles, blogs, or similar outreach materials for print or online publications.
• Leads the creation of events, discussion forums, and workshops.
• Advocates and influences through effective learning methods and activities.
• Engages extensively with consumers to gather firsthand insights on feedback regarding our programs/products/services.
• Participates in trade shows and other relevant events.
• Maintains regular communication and builds relationships in all directions (e.g., peers, supervisors, funders, stakeholders) to promote the strategy/program.
• Fosters an environment that values the diversity of employees’ and stakeholders’ styles, opinions, and perspectives.
• Communicates information, builds consensus, conducts fact-finding, and maintains transparency while keeping partners informed of program status and impact.
• Collaborates with other NSC initiatives, campaigns, and departments to identify potential dissemination and cross-collaboration opportunities.
• Managers of people dedicate a significant portion of their role to directly managing the work of at least three employees, making decisions on hiring, firing, and performance.
• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
• Alternatively, at least 12 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• Expertise in workplace training, adult learning, and the development of learning strategies.
• Proven track record in leading large-scale, mission-driven programs or product portfolios.
• Strong understanding of product lifecycle management and roadmap development.
• Ability to convert market research and customer insights into effective training solutions.
• Experience collaborating with marketing and sales teams to drive growth and adoption.
• Knowledge of instructional design best practices and contemporary learning modalities.
• Familiarity with learning technologies, platforms, and LMS environments.
• Demonstrated success in managing budgets and assessing program ROI.
• Advanced skills in data analysis and performance metrics.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and talent development abilities.
• Experience leading cross-functional and matrixed teams.
• Exceptional written, verbal, and executive-level communication skills.
• Proven capability to influence senior leaders and external stakeholders.
• Experience in thought leadership, public speaking, and industry engagement.
