This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.
• Oversees and manages multiple technical teams.
• Manages team utilization and forecasts workloads based on project sizes and scope.
• Reviews and oversees financial documentation, including revenue, write-offs, COGS, overhead expenses, and net income.
• Develops and implements one- and three-year plans for the department, including quarterly milestones.
• Leads the interviewing and onboarding process for new team members and leaders within the group.
• Mentors Team Leads and Engineers across various teams.
• Collaborates with the Business Development team to provide technical guidance, pricing information, and ensure scope alignment.
• Facilitates a seller-doer model to maintain existing client relationships while cultivating new ones.
• Identifies the need for and develops processes aimed at enhancing efficiency, consistency, and the quality of client deliverables.
• Oversees the production of deliverables across multiple teams, ensuring client satisfaction and timely completion.
• Develops and enforces Standard Best Practices (SBPs) to guarantee high-level execution among team members.
• Reviews the work of engineers, designers, drafters, and field service personnel to ensure quality and accuracy.
• Maintains a professional understanding of all relevant Codes, Standards, and construction practices.
• Assists with client communication and contacts.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• B.S. in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution; M.S. is preferred.
• 5+ years of engineering or relevant field experience, with at least 2+ years in engineering management.
• Professional Engineer (PE) designation is preferred.
• In-depth knowledge and familiarity with various electrical system studies, including: Short circuit, load flow/reactive power, harmonics, arc flash, protection/coordination, cable ampacity, grounding/earthing, transient stability, transient overvoltage, and switching.
• Familiarity with a variety of electrical system studies software such as: DIgSILENT Power Factory, ETAP, CYMCAP, CDEGS, WinIGS, PSCAD, PSLF, and PSS/e.
• Preferred experience performing system studies to support the design and construction of renewable energy projects, including wind, solar, or battery storage.
• Extensive experience in producing study or calculation reports.
• Strong understanding of power system theory, including load flow concepts, symmetrical components, and advanced topics such as grounding/earthing, power quality transient analysis, system protection coordination, or transmission system planning.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Project.
• Professional, articulate, and capable of exercising independent judgment and discretion.
• Highly organized and self-motivated.
• Excellent written and verbal command of the English language.
