Director, Technology Solutions

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the strategic and operational management of IT infrastructure, software development, and data systems.

• Ensure that core enterprise systems (.NET applications, Microsoft Azure environment, SQL Server databases, Microsoft Dynamics CRM) are reliable, scalable, and secure.

• Collaborate with the Manager of Software Development to guide architecture and platform decisions.

• Partner with the Senior Manager of Data Systems to oversee data governance, integrity, and systems strategy.

• Assess vendor options and make informed build/buy decisions for new technical solutions along with budget recommendations and planning.

• Ensure that IT operations adequately support the organization's daily technological requirements.

• Convert business and operational needs into defined technical solutions, investment/budget strategies, and implementation plans.

• Create delivery processes (intake, prioritization, release management, budget chargeback) where they currently do not exist.

• Supervise the technical implementation of tools that facilitate instructional design, curriculum management, and learner-facing systems.

• Monitor system performance and manage the resolution of significant technical issues that have been escalated.

• Prepare staff for crisis scenarios and practice response mitigation strategies.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of experience in technology leadership, including 2 years managing high-performing teams across various sub-functions (infrastructure, engineering, data).

• Proven experience in overseeing enterprise application architecture (e.g., .NET, Azure, SQL Server) and ensuring accountability for delivery among technical teams.

• Experience in overseeing or closely partnering with CRM platforms, with a preference for Microsoft Dynamics CRM experience.

• Ability to lead teams or functions beyond one's primary expertise — candidates should demonstrate sound judgment in setting direction and building trust with subject-matter experts.

• Proficient in translating vague organizational needs into well-structured technical solutions, budgets, and project plans.

• Outstanding communication skills, capable of presenting effectively to senior leadership.
