This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.
• Lead the analysis and conclusions for complex accounting transactions such as M&A, partnerships/JVs, debt/equity, compensation arrangements, leases, and medical malpractice.
• Supervise the preparation and review of accounting position papers and technical memos for both audit and internal purposes.
• Collaborate with FP&A, Legal, Corporate Development, Financial Reporting, and external entities on accounting considerations, due diligence, and transaction implications.
• Act as the primary point of contact with external auditors regarding technical accounting matters.
• Offer technical accounting support to the Financial Reporting team concerning disclosures and intricate accounting issues.
• Evaluate and provide guidance on technical conclusions presented in financial statements.
• Ensure consistency between technical positions and external financial reporting.
• Maintain and improve company-wide accounting policies.
• Guarantee uniform application of accounting practices across Clinical and Technology segments.
• Lead, develop, and mentor a team of professionals.
• Establish a scalable technical accounting function that aligns with a multi-billion-dollar organization.
• Foster a culture of excellence in foundational accounting practices while enhancing technical rigor.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Master’s degree preferred).
• CPA certification is mandatory.
• 8-12+ years of accounting experience.
• Experience in Big 4 public accounting is highly preferred.
• Background in supporting financial reporting within a complex organization.
• Public company/SEC experience is preferred.
• Experience with multi-currency and international accounting is preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP, including business combinations, consolidations and noncontrolling interests, debt and equity transactions, stock-based compensation, lease accounting, financial services – insurance, and medical malpractice accounting.
• Proven expertise in researching, documenting, and clearly communicating complex accounting issues.
• Strong experience in leading and developing teams, with effective cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Capability to influence across various functions and communicate effectively with senior leadership and external auditors.
