Director, Strategy – Quality Practices

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Drives organizational priorities by converting national directives into clear, actionable support that enhances local YMCA operational excellence and fosters a healthier, more effective YMCA Movement.

• Facilitates the establishment of shared objectives, improves alignment, and bolsters the credibility of Y-USA strategies across local YMCAs, alliances, and service delivery partners to ensure a coordinated and consistent impact.

• Develops and oversees activation strategies that promote organizational priorities, ensuring that YMCAs and partners possess the resources, guidance, and capabilities to engage effectively.

• Collaborates with the YMCA network to encourage systemwide usage of Y-USA Membership tools, products, and solutions; identifies success stories; and offers programmatic support to Network Partners.

• Gathers and analyzes Membership data, signals, and industry trends to inform ongoing quality improvement strategies and pinpoint opportunities for innovation.

• Works with governmental, nonprofit, academic, and private sector partners to support national initiatives, enhance influence, and advance mission-aligned strategies.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field such as Business or related disciplines is required.

• An advanced degree is strongly preferred.

• 8-12 years of experience is required.

• Expert functional skills, advanced industry knowledge and experience, as well as advanced managerial skills are necessary.

• Ability to manage multiple teams or functions.

• Strategic and operational decision-making authority.

• Capable of handling highly complex and managerial tasks with minimal supervision.
