Director, Strategy Consultant – Mainframe Modernization

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Accountable for delivering value to clients and Kyndryl through the application of extensive domain, technology, and industry knowledge.

• Utilize consulting methodologies and cognitive strategies to assess challenges and develop innovative solutions.

• Set milestones, quality objectives, and oversee the work of others while demonstrating excellent communication skills.

• Assist clients in adopting both significant cloud and non-cloud technologies.

• Provide recommendations on technology alternatives and support clients in making strategic choices and decisions.

• Gather and prioritize intricate requirements while resolving conflicting needs.

• Evaluate the client's current situation, define IT Strategy with key outcomes, design conceptual solutions, and plan and execute design and implementation tasks.

• Create IP and oversee specific assets, tools, and white papers that articulate viewpoints within a specialized domain.

• Assemble and manage a team of consultants and architects.

• Lead extensive modernization initiatives that encompass people, culture, processes, and technology.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in consulting with a prominent IT professional services firm or a similar background centered on IT strategy enablement.

• Proficient knowledge of major cloud technologies, including virtualization, containers, and networking across various cloud platforms.

• Subject matter expertise in at least three domains (e.g., cloud computing, IT strategy, infrastructure, IT operations, applications, enterprise architecture, solution architecture, automation, data management, AI/ML, IoT, and cloud governance models) to provide insights on industry-leading solutions.

• Experience in data modeling and analytics using common tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau).

• Conduct issue-based analysis to determine and structure the data needed, producing organized conclusions, recommendations, and roadmaps.

• Familiarity with IT Operating Models and Process Frameworks.

• Awareness of a broad range of competencies along with in-depth knowledge in specific areas (IT strategy, enterprise architecture, solution architecture, process reengineering, automation).

• Capacity to lead and facilitate workshops and interviews, along with excellent presentation abilities.

• Knowledge of DevSecOps, Agile, and Scrum frameworks to identify inefficiencies through readiness assessments and develop strategies to optimize the implementation of IT or cloud resources and capabilities.
