This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +4 more states.
• Oversees and guides department personnel to effectively implement all Safety and Health programs.
• Promotes ongoing safety enhancements and establishes yearly goals and objectives.
• Oversees the scheduling and results of Safety and Health audits.
• Manage Early Career Professionals (ECPs) or recent graduates within the Territory.
• Support RSMs and Branch Managers to ensure timely completion of incident investigations in accordance with Sunbelt Rentals Policies.
• Aid in the development and monitoring of suitable corrective actions.
• Analyze all incidents to uncover frequency and severity trends, and formulate appropriate loss control strategies.
• Assist the EVP of Safety and Health with the review and revision of Policies and Procedures.
• Collaborate with the SVP in implementing Engage for Life Principles throughout the Territory.
• Connect with Sunbelt University and RSMs concerning safety training.
• Establish a Territory Safety & Health Committee.
• Conduct monthly Safety Coordinator calls with Territory coordinators.
• Provide a weekly report to Territory SVP, SR VPs, RVPs, and DMs summarizing weekly activities.
• Ensure timely and effective Supervisor Training is conducted within the Territory.
• Maintain a uniform Near Miss Reporting Program in the territory, providing weekly feedback to branches on the quality and severity of reported near misses.
• Confirm that a proper pre-task planning program is utilized in the territory, including Job Safety Analysis and Take 10 for Safety Cards, and that employees are trained in their application.
• Support RSMs in formulating their training and audit schedule for the territory based on leading and lagging metrics.
• Assist Territory leadership in addressing tolerance levels and identifying gaps and strengths within the territory.
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience along with 10+ years of safety expertise.
• Strong capabilities in leadership.
• Exceptional oral and written communication abilities.
• Familiarity with Safety regulations and compliance standards.
• ASP, CSP or CIH certification required.
• Must be able to bend, squat, crouch, and/or reach, lifting up to 25 pounds or more as needed for the job.
