This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey, +3 more states.
• Develop and implement strategic business development initiatives to foster revenue growth and enhance market presence.
• Oversee a substantial portfolio of client and prospective accounts as the strategic account manager and primary relationship lead.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities through research, networking, and outreach efforts.
• Engage in internal strategy, education, and planning meetings.
• Collaborate with service line leaders, marketing teams, and executive leadership.
• Coach, mentor, and nurture the development of Practice Development team members.
• Recognize client and prospective tax issues, challenges, and objectives, aligning DMA’s services accordingly.
• Prepare written communications, statements of work (SOWs), and proposals that convey client needs and DMA’s value proposition.
• Collaborate with legal counsel during contract negotiations to ensure compliance with internal procedures.
• Ensure accurate and timely updates in the CRM and communicate key developments to internal stakeholders.
• Provide project and relationship management to guarantee client satisfaction and retention.
• Dedicate approximately 90% of the role to sales-driven activities and 10% to broader support for the Business Development team.
• After around two years, consistently achieve $3–5 million in annual production through new business development and account expansion.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Accounting, or a related field is essential.
• 4–5 years of professional experience in business development, preferably within tax, financial, or consulting services.
• At least 1 year in a leadership position.
• Proven success in managing client relationships and driving revenue growth.
• Strong understanding of CRM systems, sales KPIs, and pipeline management.
• Familiarity with tax law concepts and the ability to convert client needs into customized solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to cultivate internal relationships and collaborate across functions.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical thinking, initiative, and meticulous attention to detail.
• Effective organizational leadership and adept time management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM platforms, including Salesforce.
• Regular 40-hour work schedule required.
• Up to 35% travel may be necessary.
• Ability to hear, comprehend, and differentiate speech and sounds.
• Frequent repetitive hand motions are expected.
