Director, Pathology Services

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Provide leadership at the enterprise level for the strategy, governance, and scalable execution of pathology specimen retrieval operations.

• Oversee the complete lifecycle of access to archived diagnostic specimens across a wide network of external laboratory partners.

• Build and lead a high-performing team that consistently delivers accurate, timely, and compliant specimen retrieval.

• Establish the long-term operational vision, translating organizational growth and evolving business needs into scalable processes, systems, and resource models.

• Collaborate closely with senior leaders across Clinical, Laboratory Operations, Compliance, Legal, and Customer-facing teams.

• Drive operational performance, risk management, and alignment across functions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 15 years of progressive experience in operations, healthcare services, laboratory services, or related fields; Master's degree with 12 years of related experience; or PhD with 8 years of related experience.

• A minimum of 4+ years of leadership experience, including responsibility for managing managers or senior individual contributors within a complex operational function.

• Strong focus on customers and patients, with a clear understanding of HIPAA requirements.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, along with active listening abilities, complemented by outstanding interpersonal skills for both internal and external interactions.

• A proactive self-starter with a proven track record of fostering positive relationships and interactions with internal staff and customers.

• An effective project leader capable of working independently to drive the team toward established goals.

• Ability to understand, analyze, and optimize complex operational workflows.

• Proven experience in cultivating a supportive and motivating team culture.

• A proactive work approach, strong personal drive, and a desire for feedback.

• Capability to engage directly with leadership and provide well-supported recommendations.

• Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.
