Director, Operational Risk Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Spearhead the creation and execution of the operational risk management framework, which encompasses policies, procedures, and controls.

• Recognize and evaluate operational risks throughout the organization, utilizing a variety of risk assessment methodologies and tools.

• Work collaboratively with various business units and departments to establish and apply risk management processes.

• Oversee the effectiveness of operational risk controls and pinpoint areas for enhancement.

• Provide leadership and direction to a team of operational risk professionals, including setting performance goals, offering coaching and mentorship, and conducting performance assessments.

• Partner with other risk management divisions, such as credit, market, and liquidity risk, to ensure a comprehensive risk management approach.

• Ensure adherence to regulatory standards and industry best practices in operational risk management.

• Engage in the formulation and execution of the bank's overall risk appetite and risk management strategy.

• Create and deliver reports and presentations on operational risk management to senior management and the board of directors.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a pertinent field, such as finance, business, or risk management.

• A Master's degree is preferred.

• At least 10 years of experience in operational risk management, ideally within the banking sector.

• Demonstrated experience in leading the development and implementation of operational risk management frameworks and policies.

• Strong comprehension of regulatory requirements and industry best practices in operational risk management.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and persuade individuals at all organizational levels.

• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

• Proficiency in risk assessment techniques and tools, including risk mapping and scenario analysis.

• Experience in leading and managing a team of professionals.

• Relevant risk management certifications are preferred.
