This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.
• Spearhead the evolution of Technology Operations across Platform/DevOps, Corporate IT, and Operational Excellence.
• Formulate the Technology Operations strategy, target operating model, organizational framework, responsibilities, priorities, and transformation roadmap.
• Oversee multiple established technology functions through Heads, Leads, and other managerial roles.
• Advance DevOps towards a Platform Engineering model that minimizes operational toil and enhances self-service capabilities.
• Implement a “you build it, you own it” production ownership model alongside Engineering.
• Cultivate Service Management towards Operational Excellence, incorporating service ownership, incident and problem management, risk-based change governance, and systemic failure mitigation.
• Transform Corporate IT into a secure, automated employee technology framework.
• Evaluate organizational, technological, and operating model gaps and convert them into enhancement initiatives.
• Boost the maturity, reliability, scalability, and efficiency of technology operations that support production-critical systems.
• Establish operational metrics and leverage them to assess transformation outcomes and drive improvements.
• Manage digital operational resilience, encompassing business continuity, disaster recovery, backup and restoration, resilience testing, recovery objectives, and crisis preparedness.
• Collaborate with Security, Risk, and Compliance on ICT risk management, third-party risk, audit readiness, and regulatory remediation.
• Ensure identification, prioritization, and resolution of operational and technological risks.
• Assist with audits, certifications, regulatory compliance, and necessary controls.
• Oversee and optimize budgets, technology vendors, infrastructure investments, and external partnerships.
• Partner with Engineering, Security, Risk, Compliance, Product, Finance, and other business units.
• Represent Technology Operations in cross-functional and executive discussions.
• Prepare the technology organization for growth, tackling increasingly complex enterprise customers, new products, and an expanded engineering team.
• Mentor Heads and Leads, delivering measurable improvements within the first 6–12 months.
• Extensive leadership experience in Technology Operations, IT Operations, Infrastructure & Operations, Platform/Production Operations, Platform Engineering, or a similar technology function.
• Proven experience as a manager of managers, overseeing several teams or functions through Heads, Engineering Managers, Team Leads, or equivalent leadership positions.
• Prior experience as a Technology Director, VP/Head of Technology Operations, Platform/Infrastructure leader, or a comparable senior role within a product engineering environment.
• Demonstrated success in significant organizational or technology transformation initiatives.
• Experience leading or advancing DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure capabilities towards Platform Engineering, including developer self-service, automation, and reduction of operational toil.
• Strong grasp of modern production ownership models and the interplay between Platform Engineering and product engineering teams.
• Experience with production-critical systems where availability, reliability, security, and operational failures have a direct impact on business.
• Knowledge of IT and Service Management, including incident, problem, and change management.
• Experience in transforming Corporate IT or employee technology settings, focusing on identity/access lifecycle, endpoint/device management, automation, governance, and employee self-service.
• Practical experience with business continuity, disaster recovery, and operational resilience, including BIA, RTO/RPO, backup and restoration, resilience testing, and remediation efforts.
• Experience collaborating with Security, Risk, and Compliance teams while managing technological and operational risks.
• Familiarity with audits, certifications, regulatory requirements, and operational controls pertinent to financial institutions or regulated settings.
• Working knowledge of technology operations regulatory frameworks in financial services, such as DORA, is an advantage.
• Experience managing budgets, vendors, contracts, and technology investments.
• Ability to function effectively when requirements, organizational boundaries, or the final solution are not clearly defined.
• Proven track record of developing leaders and fostering autonomous teams.
• Capacity to transition between strategic issues and operational challenges.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication abilities.
• Valuable experience in fintech, payments, banking, financial infrastructure, or another regulated and production-critical technological environment.
