Director of Security Operations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Oversee the daily operations of Atmosera's 24x7x365 Security Operations Center (SOC)

• Continuously enhance the maturity, scalability, and consistency of security operations

• Take ownership of the operational delivery of Atmosera's MXDR services

• Act as the executive operational leader for client-facing security operations

• Provide technical direction throughout Microsoft's security ecosystem, including: Defender XDR, Sentinel, Defender for Cloud, Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Office 365, Entra ID Protection, Purview, and Security Copilot

• Lead the readiness efforts for incident response operations

• Align Security Operations with Atmosera's Strategic Security Program by supporting frameworks such as: NIST CSF, Microsoft Cloud Security Benchmark (MCSB), ISO 27--1, and Mitre Attack

• Recruit, develop, mentor, and retain top-tier security professionals

• Grasp the financial aspects influencing managed security services

• Establish and track operational KPIs including: SLA/SLO attainment, Mean Time To Detect (MTTD), Mean Time To Respond (MTTR), analyst utilization, automation adoption, client satisfaction, operational efficiency, alert quality, secure posture enhancement, and service profitability

⛳️ Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in Cybersecurity

• 5+ years of leadership experience in enterprise Security Operations or Managed Security Services

• Operational Excellence — Proven capability to manage repeatable processes with meticulous attention to detail and a focus on documentation

• Communication — Proficient in simplifying complex topics into clear updates for both technical and non-technical audiences

• Collaboration — Adept at working fluidly across remote, cross-functional teams to maintain alignment and drive momentum

• Problem Solving — Utilizes data and customer feedback to identify underlying issues and propose scalable, impactful solutions

• Preferred Certifications: CISSP, CISM, CCSP, Microsoft Certified Cybersecurity Architect Expert, Microsoft Certified Security Operations Analyst, Microsoft Certified Identity and Access Administrator, ITIL Foundation, or ITIL Managing Professional
