Tier 1 SOC Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Deliver round-the-clock monitoring and analysis of Security Incident Event Management (SIEM) events to detect potential security threats and vulnerabilities.

• Assess events and conduct follow-up investigations to pinpoint security incidents.

• Record security incidents utilizing an IT ticketing system.

• Oversee security incidents throughout their entire lifecycle.

• Collaborate with technical teams to investigate, document, and resolve issues.

• Suggest SIEM tuning and updates to management.

• Leverage threat intelligence sources to analyze events and identify threats and risks.

• Provide routine reporting assistance.

• Support ad-hoc data requests and investigation inquiries.

• Execute security scans following established protocols.

• Monitor and sustain SOC communications using contract-specific methods.

• Elevate complex incidents to the SOC Lead or Tier 2 Analyst.

• Maintain documented SOC Service Line Agreements for security alert monitoring.

• Assist with Security Incident Response Team calls when necessary.

• Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• An Associate’s degree with 6 years of experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with 4 years of experience.

• Security+ certification is mandatory.

• Applicants must be U.S. citizens.

• Capability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

• Willingness to work rotating shifts every 5 months and across all five shifts as required.

• Experience in providing 24x7 monitoring and analysis of SIEM.

• Familiarity with ITSM platforms such as ServiceNow.

• Strong documentation and auditing abilities with a keen eye for detail.

• Networking knowledge equivalent to Net+ or CCNA is advantageous.

• Experience with SIEM software and GenAI prompting is preferred.

• Understanding of the practical application of HIPAA, FERPA, PIA, CJIS, NIST 800-53, and ISO 27001 is preferred.
