This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Take charge of the Retail Technical Strategy: The goal is to progress beyond isolated feature development to create a cohesive, adaptable retail core that caters to a diverse range of retail personas at scale.
• Design for Resilience: Guarantee high availability and exceptional performance at the edge; you will manage the infrastructure that keeps our high-volume retailers operational, regardless of connectivity challenges.
• Implement Autonomous Systems: Spearhead the transition from manual and labor-intensive inventory management to AI-driven autonomous systems, saving valuable time and unlocking new operational efficiencies for thousands of customers.
• Enhance Talent Density: Elevate the engineering organization by identifying and attracting top-tier talent while mentoring current managers to function as high-autonomy leaders.
• Own the Results: Collaborate with Product and Design to oversee the P&L of the Retail business, managing the timely delivery of the Retail POS and Purchasing & Receiving teams while crafting a long-term strategy for the Grocery persona.
• Platform-First Mindset: You possess a proven history of developing configurable platforms instead of merely assembling collections of features.
• Systems Architect Expertise: Extensive experience with distributed systems and edge computing. You understand how to create software that remains robust in high-pressure, real-world physical environments.
• High-Growth "Builder" Mindset: You have guided engineering teams through the "1-to-10" scaling phase in a rapidly growing startup and know how to sustain momentum while enhancing technical rigor.
