Director of Quality Assurance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead the Quality Assurance (QA) team and establish the overarching test strategy, quality standards, and processes essential for achieving client objectives and performance benchmarks.

• Take ownership of Ludi's quality roadmap: assess current practices, pinpoint gaps, and implement a thorough test strategy encompassing both manual and automated testing.

• Build, oversee, and mentor a high-achieving QA team, which includes recruiting, coaching, and facilitating career growth for QA Engineers.

• Collaborate with engineering and product leadership to integrate quality practices early in the development process and synchronize QA priorities with product roadmaps.

• Supervise the design and execution of automated and manual testing frameworks, ensuring extensive coverage across all products.

• Establish and monitor quality metrics and KPIs, providing reports on product quality, defect trends, and the effectiveness of testing to the CTO and executive team.

• Manage the bug tracking and triage process within Ludi's agile project management tools, ensuring that issues are documented, prioritized, and resolved efficiently.

• Ensure that comprehensive regression testing practices are adhered to by the team when bugs are addressed.

• Promote test authoring as an agent-assisted workflow: leverage coding agents to generate and maintain test suites, while setting standards for this process.

• Critically evaluate agent-generated tests to avoid creating suites that merely codify existing bugs, pass easily, or replicate the implementation instead of the requirements.

• Oversee the evaluation strategy for AI-driven product features: manage non-deterministic output handling, evaluation harnesses, and regression detection for model behavior.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in business or computer science; an advanced degree is advantageous.

• Over 7 years of experience in QA within SaaS, ideally in the healthcare sector, including a minimum of 3 years in a QA leadership or management role.

• More than 5 years of experience with automated testing tools and strategies; hands-on proficiency with Playwright/JavaScript or similar toolsets (Cypress, Selenium).

• Demonstrated success in building and scaling QA practices, tools, and frameworks for large-scale SaaS applications.

• Proven experience in hiring, managing, and developing QA talent.

• Direct experience in operating or scaling QA in an environment that utilizes coding agents (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or equivalent).

• Strong candidates should be able to articulate how agentic development influences test strategy, beyond just tooling.

• Proven ability to distinguish genuine coverage from agent-produced test theater — suites that inflate metrics without executing real behavior.

• Capability to scale verification throughput in response to high-frequency, agent-driven merge volumes.
