This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama.

📋 Description

• Directs the strategy for state and local governmental relations, which includes developing relationships, monitoring and reporting on legislation, regulatory activities, and policy matters pertinent to the business.

• Oversees economic development partnerships, working with local economic development organizations to promote business objectives.

• Coordinates engagement with national industry associations, ensuring Milo's active participation in key forums, coalitions, and advocacy initiatives.

• Leads the strategy for community engagement in Milo’s primary markets, creating programs that align with enterprise objectives.

• Manages the corporate giving strategy, allocating budget for philanthropic investments that align with established philanthropy pillars and strategic business requirements.

• Works collaboratively across departments to develop internal and external communications that support critical initiatives.

• Facilitates external engagement for associates in partnership with cross-functional teams.

• Monitors stakeholder relationship development using Salesforce CRM and creates timely and consistent reports on engagement activities and program outcomes.

• Develops and oversees public affairs metrics, assessing program effectiveness and reporting progress to leadership.

• This role includes responsibilities related to food safety.

• Performs additional duties as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree is required in Communications, Public Policy, Political Science, Public Affairs, or a related discipline.

• An MBA or advanced leadership degree or certification from an accredited institution is preferred.

• A minimum of 10 years of experience is required, including at least 5 years in governmental affairs, public affairs, or a related functional area; or at least 8 years of experience with an advanced degree.

• Strong knowledge of the industry concerning governmental relations, community engagement, and corporate affairs is essential.

• Proven experience in state and local governmental relations, including legislative monitoring and stakeholder engagement.

• Demonstrated experience in leading cross-functional teams or managing a department is required.
