This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.
• Establish and nurture positive relationships with client executives and plant management, ensuring that client expectations are fulfilled, including project milestones, performance (safety, quality, human performance), production (schedule, productivity metrics), and financial responsibilities.
• Promote and cultivate a safety-focused work environment where all employees are aware of reporting mechanisms and opportunities for addressing safety and work-related issues.
• Take initiative to coach individuals and collaboratively address corrective actions with WEC executive management and human resources personnel.
• Ensure the effective planning and execution of assigned projects, focusing on project planning, scope evaluation, readiness, safety, quality, financial aspects, human performance, and the deployment of human resource initiatives.
• Oversee operations within the assigned area, including project staffing assignments, technical and leadership training, human performance, quality, and safety protocols.
• Cultivate positive and collaborative relationships with colleagues, executive management, and other WEC departments to foster teamwork and achieve results beneficial to the overall WEC business.
• Confirm that operational conduct adheres to all regulatory, governmental, client, and WEC guidelines and requirements.
• Remain visible, accessible, and approachable to WEC employees engaged in assigned operational projects, leading by example regarding expected positive behaviors, field observations, corrective actions, and coaching.
• A bachelor's degree in engineering or business management is required; an advanced degree in a technical field or an MBA is preferred.
• Over 10 years of progressively responsible leadership experience in operations.
• Maintenance management experience in the power generation, industrial, or marine sectors.
• Experience working with organized trade unions and managing labor relations for both exempt and non-exempt workforces.
• Willingness to travel weekly or frequently to meet WEC and client requirements.
• Ability to maintain a presence at client sites for extended durations to support outages, including serving as a leader for the entire outage period.
