This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee claims advocacy for Management and Professional Liability excess claims, working with in-house MGA or Programs claims teams and Third-Party Administrators.
• Examine forms, policies, endorsements, special handling instructions, and other relevant documents to confirm coverage.
• Manage litigated claims with a focus on safeguarding reputational risk and preventing bad faith allegations, demonstrating comfort with fast-paced and time-sensitive claim negotiations.
• Authorize claims in accordance with company policies, authority limits, and local regulatory standards.
• Provide insights to the business regarding claims trends and loss prevention across various functions including Program Management, Underwriting, Legal, Compliance, Risk, Finance, and Actuarial.
• Possess extensive knowledge of reserving accuracy and estimation, able to communicate the reserving practices and analyses utilized to determine reserves effectively.
• Ensure the precision and sufficiency of all aspects of claims reserving and coverage evaluation.
• Build, maintain, and foster relationships with MGA and Program partners, brokers, ceding companies, attorneys, and loss adjusters regarding claims issues.
• Engage our diverse customer base with fairness and professionalism in every interaction.
• The scope of our D&O work encompasses both public and private corporations, including non-profits.
• Frequent travel within the US and internationally is anticipated.
• Perform any other duties as reasonably assigned.
• 7 to 10 years of experience in handling Management and Professional Liability claims with an authority limit of USD $250k or more.
• Extensive knowledge and experience of the claims process within the insurance sector.
• Outstanding problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Capable of working independently within authorized limits, while knowing when to seek assistance and guidance on issues requiring support.
• Proficient in interacting and effectively communicating with senior-level executives during daily operations and in meetings.
• Ability to work strategically and collaboratively across various departments.
• Strong computer proficiency, including familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are mandatory; proficiency in additional languages is advantageous but not required.
• Education: J.D. degree from an accredited institution. Licensed attorneys with claims experience are encouraged to apply.
