Director of Legal

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee Redpanda’s commercial agreements from initial draft through to final signature.

• Develop contracting frameworks, including templates, negotiation strategies, and approval processes.

• Act as the main legal point of contact for customer, partner, and vendor contracts.

• Collaborate with Sales, Customer Success, Product, Security, and Finance to create agreements that align with business objectives.

• Interpret intricate legal concepts into practical guidance for stakeholders without legal backgrounds.

• Provide advice on privacy, data protection, and the changing landscape of AI regulations.

• Assist the VP, General Counsel with a variety of legal issues as the company grows.

• Contribute to establishing the legal department from the ground up.

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

• Active membership in a US state bar.

• A minimum of 5 years of legal experience.

• Proven track record of independently handling complex commercial negotiations for technology firms.

• Experience in developing contracting procedures.

• Familiarity with privacy legislation, including GDPR and CCPA/CPRA.

• Capability to convey complex legal analysis to non-legal audiences.

• Generalist approach with a flexible mindset.

• Ability to work independently in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.
