This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Lead the commercial contracting process for client insertion orders, NDAs, DPAs, as well as partner and vendor agreements, primarily governed by US law.

• Report directly to the CEO, Aman Sareen.

• Address employment and general legal issues, resolving simple matters while referring more complex issues to external counsel.

• Oversee outside law firms, including scoping matters, managing expenditures, timelines, and accountability for costs.

• Act as the initial point of contact for legal inquiries across the company, providing guidance to leadership regarding risk.

• Establish templates, negotiation strategies, triage processes, and manage outside counsel from the ground up.

• Draft, negotiate, and finalize client insertion orders, NDAs, and partner and vendor agreements.

• Create and maintain contract templates, playbooks, and fallback positions.

• Develop and implement AI tools and workflows for template-driven documents, such as NDAs.

• Collaborate with sales, partnerships, and finance teams on deal structuring and vendor relations.

• Work alongside FIRY's legal team on cross-entity and more complex legal matters.

• Expand into a broader legal role as the needs of RZR evolve.


⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active bar admission in at least one US state.

• Minimum of 3 years of post-JD experience in commercial or transactional law, either in-house or at a law firm.

• Proficient in drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, including IOs, NDAs, MSAs, or their equivalents.

• Direct experience with negotiating DPAs.

• Familiarity with US state data privacy laws, including CCPA and GDPR, as they pertain to vendor and partner data flows.

• Capability to operate independently under US law.

• Experience in managing or coordinating with outside counsel, including scoping matters and budget management.

• Competence in handling commercial disputes and negotiation aspects with minimal oversight.

• Basic knowledge of employment law principles in California, New York, and other pertinent states is advantageous.

• Experience in the media, adtech, SaaS, or programmatic advertising sectors is a plus.

• Previous in-house experience is beneficial, though not mandatory.
