This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Lead the finance department by supervising a team of four, comprising two senior accountants and two analysts, ensuring they receive the necessary guidance and support for collective success.
• Manage the relationship with our parent company, Coincheck Group N.V., serving as the primary liaison with their finance department and conducting regular meetings with their CFO and Controller.
• Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing process, including the review of financial statements and reporting packages, with clear analysis of variances against the budget and key account balances.
• Review non-consolidated EWC calculations to ensure precision and consistency across reporting.
• Lead and manage the year-end audit process, acting as the main contact for external auditors and ensuring timely and accurate delivery of all necessary materials.
• Supervise and coordinate corporate tax reporting, collaborating closely with external advisors to ensure compliance and accuracy.
• Ensure the timely and accurate completion of all regulatory, compliance, and internal reporting requirements.
• Manage and sustain key banking relationships, including overseeing cash management and related processes.
• Spearhead the implementation and optimization of financial systems (including GL), ensuring proper controls, documentation, and scalability.
• Drive process enhancements and efficiencies while maintaining comprehensive documentation within Finance policies and procedures.
• Provide leadership and coverage across the Finance function, ensuring operational continuity and cross-training within the team.
• Deliver ad hoc financial analysis and reporting to aid senior leadership in decision-making.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in corporate accounting, preferably within the asset management or investment fund sector.
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field; CPA or equivalent designation required.
• Extensive experience in leading or owning monthly financial reporting and closing processes.
• Proven background in managing or supporting external audits and tax processes.
• Strong understanding of financial controls, reporting standards (IFRS/US GAAP), and compliance requirements.
• Highly collaborative, capable of functioning effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
