This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee financial management for Care in Action (501(c)(4)), its PAC, and related entities such as NDWA Labs.
• Administer monthly closing processes, manage expense and treasury approvals, and handle intercompany transactions across various entities.
• Act as Board Treasurer and serve as the primary liaison for external auditors.
• Collaborate with NDWA's accounting team, the Development department, legal/compliance personnel, and senior leadership to ensure the organization's financial well-being, accuracy, and sustainability.
• Take a prominent role in the annual budgeting process by assisting key staff in formulating program budgets.
• Over 5 years of progressive experience in financial management, ideally within a nonprofit or advocacy organization.
• Familiarity with 501(c)(4) entities and/or Political Action Committees (PACs).
• Proven expertise in preparing, analyzing, and presenting financial statements, budget versus actual reports, and cash flow forecasts.
• Strong grasp of restricted and unrestricted fund accounting, grant financial reporting, and nonprofit revenue recognition.
• Experience overseeing an audit process and collaborating with external auditors.
• Capability to manage multiple entities concurrently, including intercompany transactions and allocations.
• Outstanding organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities; adept at translating complex financial data for non-financial staff and board members.
• Capability to work autonomously in a remote setting with a distributed team.
