
Director of Engineering – Infrastructure

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a small Infrastructure Engineering team, including responsibilities for hiring and performance management.
• Take ownership of the technical direction for cloud infrastructure, backend services, our website, developer tooling, observability, and operational systems.
• Enhance reliability, scalability, security, and engineering effectiveness across the platform.
• Facilitate a smoother and safer process for engineers to build, deploy, and operate software.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, Data Science, and business stakeholders on architecture, technical strategy, and operational priorities.
• Oversee incident response readiness, operational practices, and service ownership throughout the organization.
• Balance long-term technical investments with the demands of a rapidly evolving product business.
• Ensure the platform is capable of supporting the company’s next generation of products, experiences, and growth initiatives.
• A minimum of 8 years of software engineering experience.
• Proven experience in leading engineering teams, managers, or senior technical contributors.
• Strong technical expertise encompassing cloud infrastructure, backend systems, web technologies, and operational tooling.
• Experience in operating and scaling systems on AWS.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, observability, deployment automation, and contemporary engineering practices.
• Experience in supporting consumer-facing products at scale is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated capability to lead small, high-impact teams with a strong sense of ownership and autonomy.
• Proven success in navigating ambiguous environments.
• A growth mindset, intellectual curiosity, and a proactive approach to action.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership abilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
