Director of Data Center Design

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Establish and take ownership of the global data center white space, shell, and critical infrastructure (CI) design standards to facilitate next-generation AI/ML compute hardware, focusing on power density (e.g., >50kW per rack).

• Spearhead the initial architecture and engineering stages for all dedicated data center programs, ensuring that designs align with hyperscale standards for reliability (Tier III/IV), efficiency (low PUE), and swift deployment.

• Oversee the selection and integration of cutting-edge cooling topologies, including the strategic implementation of liquid-first and direct-to-chip cooling solutions.

• Supervise and mentor a team of electrical, mechanical, and architectural design engineers, acting as the ultimate technical authority on all data center engineering decisions.

• Propel continuous enhancement in design processes, utilizing insights gained from deployment and operations to decrease time-to-market and construction expenses.

⛳️ Requirements

• B.S. or M.S. in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.

• Over 15 years of progressive experience in data center design, critical infrastructure engineering, or facility engineering.

• More than 10 years of leadership experience managing high-performing engineering teams.

• In-depth knowledge of Uptime Institute Tier Standards, ASHRAE, and applicable building codes (NEC, IBC).
