This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.
• Lead the development of integrated concepts across a variety of clients, industries, and business challenges.
• Collaborate with copywriters and multidisciplinary teams to transform insightful human understanding into a clear, ownable campaign platform.
• Steer teams through divergent thinking, selection, refinement, and execution—challenging the conventional first answer.
• Ensure that every visual decision supports the central idea and that all executions align with the overarching strategy.
• Contribute innovative ideas to pitches, organic growth opportunities, agency initiatives, and thought leadership.
• Define unique visual directions encompassing composition, typography, image-making, motion, interaction, and overall experience.
• Develop and oversee moodboards, styleframes, storyboards, comps, and prototypes that bring ideas to life and enable teams and clients to envision possibilities.
• Review and enhance work by providing clear, specific feedback that elevates both the concept and its execution.
• Mentor art directors, designers, copywriters, and emerging creative leaders, tailoring guidance to individual strengths and development goals.
• Frame, present, and advocate for creative ideas with a compelling visual narrative, strategic rationale, and assurance of how the work will be actualized.
• Act as a trusted advisor, possessing a deep understanding of the client’s business, brand, audience, competitive landscape, and willingness to embrace creative risks.
• A portfolio showcasing innovative conceptual thinking, distinctive visual narratives, outstanding art direction, design skill, and leadership across integrated campaigns.
• 8–12 years of experience in agency or integrated marketing, including significant team and client leadership roles.
• Proven track record of leading multidisciplinary creative teams and guiding campaigns from inception through production.
• Extensive expertise in art direction, design systems, typography, image-making, motion, and visual storytelling—combined with strong narrative and copy judgment.
• Experience in presenting and advocating for creative work to senior clients and stakeholders.
• Demonstrated success in mentoring creative talent and enhancing the quality of team output—not just individual projects.
• Strong grasp of how strategy, craft, channels, production, and measurement interact to drive business and brand impact.
• An inquisitive nature regarding culture, technology, platforms, and shifting audience behaviors, coupled with the ability to discern valuable insights from trends.
• Practical experience with generative image and emerging visual tools for comps and concept development, with sound judgment on consistency, feasibility, disclosure, licensing, and final production quality.
• Exceptional skills in communication, collaboration, presentation, prioritization, and leadership.
