Director of Compliance, Privacy

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Ensure that Insightec upholds a robust global compliance program relevant to its medical device operations.

• Provide guidance and support to the legal team, senior management, and the Board of Directors regarding compliance responsibilities.

• Lead and facilitate the management compliance committee that oversees engagements with Healthcare Professionals, as well as sponsorships, donations, grants, and fellowships.

• Oversee the vetting process for HCP consultants and the selection of third-party sellers.

• Evaluate HCP engagements and events to ensure they align with applicable laws and ethical codes within the industry.

• Collaborate with various departments to develop systems for tracking, auditing, and reporting HCP expenditures and interactions.

• Manage the reporting of aggregate spending and transparency initiatives.

• Oversee the Enterprise Risk Management program and its corresponding mitigation strategies.

• Maintain the Compliance Action Plan along with the Monitoring and Auditing Plan.

• Uphold the Code of Conduct and company policies while facilitating periodic training sessions.

• Handle reports from the ethics hotline and address compliance concerns.

• Oversee compliance investigations, corrective measures, record management, and disciplinary actions.

• Prepare and present reports, offering quarterly updates to senior executives and the Board-level ethics and compliance committees.

• Update and sustain data privacy and security policies in response to evolving privacy regulations.

• Act as the Company's Data Protection Officer for GDPR and Privacy Officer responsibilities.

• Ensure compliance among distributors, sales agents, and third-party sellers through due diligence, contracting, training, and oversight.

• Assist business leaders in fulfilling compliance requirements through needs assessments, committee meetings, and operational frameworks.

• Maintain the internal Compliance Corner website, which houses policies, procedures, and training materials.

• Deliver training and practical guidance to sales, marketing, medical affairs, and R&D teams regarding compliant HCP engagement standards.

• Function as a compliance helpdesk for policy-related inquiries and general advice.

• Outstanding academic qualifications.

• A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience.

• Preferably experience within the medical device or life sciences sector.

• Experience in a global organization is advantageous.

• Strong analytical skills.

• Hands-on approach to tasks.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with dynamic multinational and interdisciplinary teams.

• Familiarity with compliance programs, relevant laws, government guidelines, and industry codes such as AdvaMed, MedTech Europe, and APACMed.

• Knowledge of data privacy and security regulations, including HIPAA, GDPR, and CCPA.

• Capability to manage compliance programs for HCPs and third-party sellers.

• Proficiency in managing enterprise risk management initiatives.

• Experience in conducting compliance investigations, implementing corrective actions, maintaining records, and administering disciplinary measures.

• Ability to provide compliance training and practical support.

• Ability to act as Data Protection Officer for GDPR and Privacy Officer.
