Director of Compliance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +3 more countries.

📋 Description

• Lead and expand a team of three Compliance Operations Analysts.

• Manage daily compliance review operations for e-commerce and marketplace sectors.

• Provide guidance on consumer communications and data compliance matters.

• Establish Yomali’s privacy and security program from inception.

• Perform data mapping and create retention policies.

• Supervise vendors and assess security questionnaires.

• Convert legal and regulatory requirements into straightforward guidance for product, marketing, operations, and payments teams.

• Act as the main escalation point for compliance concerns at BuyGoods and HelpGrid.

• Collaborate with Legal Operations to pinpoint and apply early automations.

• Ensure stability among personnel and processes within key portfolio companies.

• Develop comprehensive security and privacy roadmaps at the group level.

• Take ownership of consumer regulatory compliance as the primary focus.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven hands-on experience in compliance.

• Direct familiarity with US and international consumer protection regulations.

• Experience in managing and developing a team of direct reports.

• Demonstrated ability to build or enhance a compliance function within a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.

• Comfort in navigating ambiguous situations.

• Strong judgment on when to make a decision and when to escalate issues.

• Experience in building privacy and security programs, ideally including data mapping, DPIAs, vendor risk assessments, and retention policies.

• A legal degree is not mandatory.

• Capability to function as both a player and a manager.

• Skill in translating intricate regulatory requirements into actionable guidance.
