This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +5 more states.
• Oversee teams implementing the strategy for AI-generated and AI-enhanced case law content.
• Create and sustain AI case law initiative roadmaps from the proof of concept stage to production deployment.
• Identify and prioritize AI opportunities in areas such as collection, conversion, enrichment, summarization, classification, linking, and update workflows.
• Collaborate with Product and Technology teams to enhance Lexis+ AI and associated research experiences.
• Provide leadership and oversight for AI-driven case law content projects across various jurisdictions and content streams.
• Ensure that AI-generated content adheres to standards of legal accuracy, editorial quality, consistency, and trustworthiness.
• Define and implement governance frameworks that encompass human-in-the-loop review, version control, auditability, and risk management.
• Transition established AI solutions into routine workflows with the Director of Performance and Operations.
• Regularly present to senior leadership to ensure strategic alignment, highlight risks, and acknowledge successes.
• Assist in the development of AI skills and editorial best practices across content teams.
• Advocate for responsible AI adoption, experimentation, and continuous improvement in editorial processes.
• Act as the primary editorial liaison for AI-related case law projects with Product Management, Engineering, Data Science, and UX teams.
• Convert editorial and legal requirements into AI content specifications, evaluation criteria, and success metrics.
• Define and monitor quality, coverage, freshness, and scalability metrics.
• Establish feedback mechanisms utilizing editorial reviews, customer signals, and downstream usage data.
• Keep track of industry advancements, regulatory factors, and best practices concerning AI in legal publishing.
• A Bachelor’s degree is required; a background in legal studies or a JD is preferred.
• Over 8 years of experience in legal content, legal workflows, publishing, product, or editorial roles.
• More than 5 years of experience in people management.
• Proven experience leading AI-enabled or automation-driven content initiatives.
• Strong understanding of case law content, legal research workflows, and editorial standards.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives within a matrixed organization.
• Practical knowledge of AI technologies, including LLMs, NLP, machine learning, and human-in-the-loop workflows.
• Prior experience in enhancing LLMs, AI tools, or similar technologies.
• Experience in crafting effective prompts and designing evaluative methodologies.
• Highly skilled in data analysis and performance metrics.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities, including presenting to leadership and stakeholders.
• Capacity to collaborate effectively across departments, senior leadership, and global teams.
• Ability to work effectively across different time zones as required.
