Director of Canada Communications

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Formulate and execute effective communication strategies that align with influence objectives in Canada.

• Spearhead the creation and enhancement of key messages and narratives for external stakeholders.

• Oversee the planning and execution of thought leadership initiatives for public engagements.

• Collaborate with the Managing Director’s Office to ensure cohesive communication efforts.

• Work alongside specialized teams within the communications department.

• Monitor and report on performance metrics to facilitate ongoing enhancement.

• Direct the Communications team to deepen their understanding of the Canadian context.

• Manage media relations in the region to foster relationships that support the organization's influence objectives.

• Execute issues management plans as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.

• Over 5 years of experience in senior communications positions in Canada.

• Demonstrated ability as a trusted advisor to organizational leaders and other key influencers.

• Exceptional writing and listening abilities.

• Experience in developing and implementing communication strategies in a global context.

• Proven track record in crafting strategic communications and public affairs messaging.

• Experience in managing external vendors and agencies.

• Background in supervising a team of communication professionals.

• Strong analytical capabilities and experience in managing influence strategies.

• Ability to demonstrate tact and diplomacy in dealings with both internal and external partners.

• Excellent leadership, teamwork, relationship-building, influencing, and collaboration skills.

• Capacity to operate both strategically and in a hands-on manner.
