Director of Application Counseling

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut.

📋 Description

• Oversee, manage, and nurture counselors, which includes directing onboarding, training, performance evaluation, and ongoing professional growth.

• Create and implement relevant management and quality assurance frameworks to establish proactive management systems and assist other managers in their supervisory roles.

• Enhance training oversight and materials to aid new counselors in gaining expertise in admissions counseling and customer service excellence.

• Directly assess counselor performance and address family concerns, including reviewing applications from counselors who seek additional guidance.

• Conduct specialized workshops and bootcamps for AC students and provide support programs for counselors.

• Manage a limited caseload of specialized students.

• Analyze the effectiveness of programs, mentor engagement, and client feedback to drive continuous improvement.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree from a prestigious institution; advanced degrees are advantageous.

• 5+ years of experience in education, admissions consulting, management consulting, coaching, client services, or another high-performance, client-facing role.

• Previous experience in people management, showcasing the ability to coach, inspire, and uphold high standards.

• Strong strategic thinking capabilities coupled with the aptitude to implement and operationalize ideas effectively.

• Outstanding communication skills and executive presence, especially when interfacing with high-net-worth families and senior stakeholders.

• High emotional intelligence, sound judgment, and the ability to navigate complex or high-stakes scenarios comfortably.

• Ability to thrive in a rapidly growing, dynamic organization where structures are actively being developed.
