Director of AI, Operations

📋 Description

• Create, develop, and implement AI agents and AI-driven tools that address real operational challenges within S&OP, Member Care, Quality, Procurement, Logistics, and Customs.

• Build enterprise-ready applications designed for global deployment, adhering to IT and Data Engineering standards from the outset.

• Collaborate with IT and Data Engineering teams to seamlessly integrate solutions into existing enterprise systems, including ERP and CRM platforms.

• Review current workflows across all Operations functions to pinpoint the highest-value opportunities for AI and intelligent automation.

• Assess the AI tool landscape and provide a clear, defensible perspective on what iFIT should develop, acquire, or disregard.

• Manage a network of AI subject matter experts embedded within Operations functions, serving as their mentor, escalation point, and network connector.

• Enhance the AI expertise of the entire Operations leadership team through practical enablement, rather than just training presentations.

• Foster a culture of AI curiosity and practical experimentation throughout Operations, ensuring that this initiative persists beyond any individual project.

• Act as the internal AI expert for Operations, representing the function in cross-company discussions regarding AI strategy.

• Document processes before and after implementation to ensure that every improvement is measurable and justifiable to the COO and executive team.

• Simplify complex technical solutions into straightforward language that operations leaders and frontline managers can act upon.

• Develop a continuous AI roadmap for Operations that provides leadership with insight into ongoing projects, upcoming initiatives, and completed implementations.

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, or a related discipline.

• Practical experience in building with LLMs, AI agents, multi-agent frameworks, or production-level AI systems.

• Understanding of API integrations and the capability to connect enterprise systems that were not originally designed to collaborate.

• Experience in or related to a startup environment where rapid delivery and accountability for outcomes were the norms.

• Proven history of collaborating across functions and gaining trust from business leaders who may be skeptical about technology for its own sake.

• Experience in managing dotted-line teams, cross-functional working groups, or distributed networks of SMEs.

• Proven ability to elevate the technical skills of non-technical stakeholders through enablement, rather than mere presentations.
