Director of Accounting and Tax, CPA

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Oversee accounting, bookkeeping, and tax responsibilities across more than 10 entities.

• Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for both businesses and individuals.

• Supervise daily accounting operations and ensure precise financial reporting.

• Manage relationships with banks, financing activities, and communications with lenders.

• Assist with investment analysis and support financial decision-making processes.

• Collaborate directly with ownership on strategic financial projects.

• Enhance processes, introduce efficiencies, and utilize technology whenever feasible.

• Act as the internal expert in accounting and tax matters for the organization.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting and tax, preferably within a family office context.

• Active CPA license is REQUIRED (California preferred, but open to candidates from other states).

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business is REQUIRED.

• Experience in preparing tax returns for both businesses and individuals.

• Strong background in full-cycle accounting and bookkeeping.

• Experience managing multiple entities, holding companies, or intricate ownership structures.

• A combination of public accounting experience and private industry experience is highly desirable.

• Familiarity with banking relationships, lending, investments, and financial reporting is essential.

• Exceptional communication and relationship-building abilities.
