This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Spearhead the creation and operational implementation of the NP Negotiations & Engagement department, encompassing planning, systems development, staffing, workflows, governance support, and reporting frameworks.
• Convert strategic objectives into practical operational plans with quantifiable deliverables and timelines.
• Foster a high-performing, collaborative, and accountable team culture rooted in service, responsiveness, and strategic execution.
• Drive organizational change and implementation initiatives within a fast-paced and politically intricate environment.
• Develop and supervise annual workplans, budgets, KPIs, risk management strategies, and performance reporting.
• Act as the primary operational leader for executing the NP Main Agreement mandate.
• Serve as the main operational coordination hub across executive leadership, legal advisors, negotiators, governance structures, and NP engagement processes related to the NP Main Agreement mandate.
• Direct organizational readiness for NP negotiations, including bargaining preparedness, engagement processes, evidence compilation, and negotiation planning.
• Collaborate closely with legal advisors, external negotiators, and NP leadership frameworks to coordinate negotiation strategies and execution.
• Assist in formulating negotiation agendas, bargaining priorities, and consultation frameworks.
• Ensure all negotiations-related activities are legally sound, strategically aligned, and informed by comprehensive engagement with Nurse Practitioners (NPs) in British Columbia.
• Cultivate and maintain strong, effective relationships with the Ministry of Health, health authorities, policy leaders, and system partners.
• Establish NNPBC as a credible, solutions-focused partner in discussions concerning NP workforce planning, compensation, and primary care transformation.
• Lead government relations strategies related to NP practice, negotiations, and policy priorities.
• Identify emerging political, policy, and system risks and opportunities, offering proactive advice to the CEO and organizational leadership.
• Build trusted connections with Nurse Practitioners across various practice settings, geographies, and employment models throughout British Columbia.
• Develop engagement strategies that are inclusive, transparent, and responsive to the diverse experiences and perspectives of NPs.
• Support and empower NP-led structures, ensuring that NP voices significantly influence organizational priorities and negotiation directions.
• Act as a visible and credible representative of NNPBC with NP leaders, committees, and external partners.
• Oversee the development of policy analyses, workforce intelligence, compensation research, and environmental assessments related to NP practice and negotiations.
• Collaborate closely with NNPBC Communications to ensure consistent messaging and strong narrative positioning.
• Prepare high-quality briefing materials, reports, presentations, and strategic recommendations for executive leadership and the Board of Directors.
• Assist with public-facing advocacy and strategic communication initiatives as needed.
• Graduate degree in a relevant field such as public administration, labor relations, health policy, law, business, leadership, or a related discipline.
• At least 10 years of progressive senior leadership experience in areas including labor relations and negotiations, health system leadership, government relations, professional association leadership, and complex stakeholder engagement.
• Proven track record of leading large-scale strategic initiatives or organizational transformation projects.
• Strong understanding of British Columbia’s health system, health policy environment, and political landscape.
• Demonstrated ability to forge and sustain relationships with government entities, professional groups, unions, executives, and frontline professionals.
• Exceptional facilitation, negotiation, communication, and influencing capabilities.
• Proven capacity to lead in politically sensitive and highly visible contexts.
• Experience in establishing operational structures, teams, or programs from the ground up.
