Director, Medical Field Training

📋 Description

• Responsible for facilitating, planning, developing, implementing, and assessing training programs tailored for the Taiho Oncology Medical Field Team, focusing on both solid and liquid tumors.

• Collaborates with the Field Medical Team (FMT) Lead, Medical Information, Scientific Communications, and Real World Evidence (RWE) teams to identify and prioritize training needs for the FMT that align with the MA strategy for each product and therapeutic area.

• Formulates an annual training plan and curriculum for the Medical Field Team to enhance technology utilization, product lifecycle management, and disease states relevant to Taiho Oncology.

• Develops content for and/or modifies materials and tools that aid the Medical Field Team in effectively delivering Taiho Oncology product information, scientific data, managed care, and payer presentations, as well as real-world evidence to healthcare professionals.

• Curriculum development should incorporate innovative and blended approaches, utilizing various resources such as live training, WebEx, interactive workshops, podcasts, virtual learning, expert-led workshops, and peer-to-peer interactions.

• Oversees the MA vendor agency in creating materials for the MFT in collaboration with Scientific Communications and Medical Information teams.

• Champions the development and implementation of educational initiatives aligned with best practices, applicable laws, regulations, and relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).


⛳️ Requirements

• Doctoral degree in a scientific and/or medical discipline.

• Over 8 years of experience in pharmaceutical/biotech Medical Affairs, demonstrating a successful track record.

• At least 3 years of experience in a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) or a similar field-based role.

• Expertise in health economics and outcomes research (HEOR), managed care, or other related fields with a proven record of success.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in scientific training and development, with preference for MFT training experience.

• 3 or more years of experience in oncology/hematology is strongly preferred.

• Proven leadership capabilities.

• Experience delivering public scientific presentations.

• Self-motivated, assertive, and confident, with the ability to act with urgency and passion.

• Comprehensive knowledge of oncology disease states.

• Highly skilled in understanding and teaching clinical and technical scientific knowledge; notable record of effective oral presentations.

• Outstanding organizational and planning abilities.

• Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills, with the capability to build and sustain internal and external partnerships.

• Strong communication abilities (written, verbal, and presentation) showcasing a professional demeanor.

• Extensive experience collaborating with cross-functional groups consisting of two or more of the following: Medical Affairs sub-departments, information technology, managed care, marketing, sales, market research, and/or finance.

• Capacity to integrate a big-picture, long-term perspective with attention to detail and a sense of urgency to produce quality results.

• Proficiency in critically evaluating scientific literature.

• Familiarity with PhRMA, OIG, and other guidelines related to compliant medical and field-based communications.

• Proven ability to synthesize and clearly communicate medical information.

• Possesses and maintains a valid driver’s license.
