This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +6 more states.
• Direct Growth engineering teams in collaboration with the Growth Product department.
• Supervise software engineering initiatives that enhance user acquisition, activation, and conversion across iOS, Android, and Web platforms.
• Develop and communicate a multi-year Growth Engineering Strategy that aligns with corporate objectives.
• Support the establishment of long-term engineering strategies in partnership with the Product organization.
• Work alongside Marketing to strategize on the marketing technology stack.
• Advocate for A/B testing frameworks and rapid experimentation to enhance the conversion funnel.
• Oversee the design and advancement of robust and secure foundational systems for growth.
• Create scalable and maintainable technical systems and standards.
• Propel personalization engineering, focusing on User Personalization systems.
• Enhance data warehousing and business metric reporting in collaboration with Data Engineering and BI.
• Own the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and establish foundations for operational excellence.
• Lead Engineering Managers and Software Engineers across backend, mobile, and Web platforms.
• Mentor and guide technical leaders; manage hiring processes, performance evaluations, and career development.
• Educate teams on growth strategies and sustainable technical solutions.
• Refine the Growth-domain career progression framework.
• Collaborate with User Acquisition and Marketing Automation teams to ensure engineering outputs align with campaign objectives.
• Align growth-funnel event measurement with Data Engineering and Business Intelligence.
• Integrate cross-functional Growth initiatives with the overarching product roadmap.
• A minimum of 4+ years of proven technical leadership experience within growth teams, particularly in mobile and web environments.
• Strong foundation in technical solutions that involve collaboration among marketing, product, and engineering teams.
• A demonstrated history of implementing effective SDLC practices, including testing, code reviews, incident responses, and observability in a fast-paced environment.
• Expertise in handling complex subscription lifecycles and payment integration systems.
• Ability to proactively identify and take ownership of areas needing improvement.
• In-depth knowledge of experimentation methodologies, including A/B testing and instrumentation.
• An eagerness to explore emerging technologies, including AI.
• Capability to embody onX’s Company Values.
• Permanent authorization to work in the US is a prerequisite for employment.
• Willingness to travel quarterly for several days to a corporate office or other strategic onX locations.
