This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the company's financial planning activities, which include annual budgeting, long-term business planning, and monthly forecasting, with a focus on battery storage operations and development.
• Evaluate and maintain intricate financial models that reflect the complete lifecycle economics of battery storage assets, encompassing development, construction, and operations, while possessing a solid understanding of tax equity and project financing model frameworks to enhance project planning and capital optimization.
• Generate and present timely, precise, and actionable financial reports at various levels, ranging from departmental reporting to executive leadership and board reports, taking ownership of the financial narrative and comprehending the details behind it.
• Collaborate closely with operations, commercial, and development teams to create financial models at both corporate and project levels that inform investment choices and high-level business decisions, linking thorough financial analysis to strategic priorities throughout the portfolio.
• Spearhead high-priority strategic initiatives, including but not limited to tax equity and project finance assessments, capital planning scenario modeling, benchmarking analysis, and portfolio and enterprise valuation evaluations.
• Propel process enhancement initiatives by identifying inefficiencies in financial planning and reporting, and implementing solutions that elevate the speed, accuracy, and scalability of financial planning and reporting as the organization expands.
• Deliver presentations to executive and board-level audiences with clarity, brevity, and confidence, supported by deep expertise and command of the financial data.
• Direct the hands-on assessment and comprehensive implementation of planning tools and reporting infrastructure—from standardizing requirements to configuring workflows and managing user acceptance testing (UAT) and execution.
• Supervise and uphold integrations between FP&A systems and upstream operational and commercial data sources, including ERP, Asset Lifecycle Management, ETRM, and CRM platforms, ensuring data accuracy and scalability.
• Manage data migration, systems integration, and go-live execution, leveraging prior implementation experience to foresee risks and sustain financial data integrity during system transitions.
• Establish governance frameworks, data standards, and system administration protocols that promote long-term platform scalability and financial controls.
• 7-10+ years of progressive corporate finance experience, particularly in FP&A roles.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience leading FP&A or finance technology implementations, including EPM/CPM platforms such as Anaplan, Planful, Adaptive, or Oracle EPBCS.
• Practical experience in constructing and maintaining complex PowerBI backend data models, linking them to enterprise data sources such as ERP systems, and developing dashboard visuals.
• Demonstrated success in driving complex, cross-functional special projects or strategic initiatives from inception to completion as a direct contributor.
• Advanced financial modeling capabilities with hands-on experience in project finance, capital budgeting, and long-range planning.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience presenting to C-suite and board-level audiences.
• Direct experience in battery storage, renewable energy, or the broader energy sector is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with battery storage commercial frameworks, tax equity structures, project finance, and the economics of development-stage assets is preferred.
• MBA, CFA, or CPA designation is preferred.
• Experience in a dynamic, high-growth finance environment.
• Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Harvey) to enhance the efficiency, quality, and responsiveness of work while exercising sound judgment and appropriate oversight.
